What level do I need to be to attend?
The seminar welcomes all levels, from beginners through to senior dan grades.
Sessions are structured to provide meaningful instruction for every participant.
Is the seminar open to non-Portuguese participants?
Absolutely. International participation is the heart of the event.
Participants have attended from Japan, Brazil, across Europe, and beyond.
What language will instruction be in?
Ariga Sensei’s instruction will be delivered in Portuguese with English translation.
Organisational communications are in English and Portuguese.
Equipment
What equipment do I need to bring?
You should bring your full bogu (men, kote, do, tare), at least two shinai in good state, and your kendogi and hakama. If you are doing examination, you sohuld also bring your bokuto.
Are loaner shinai or bogu available?
No.
Travel & Accommodation
Is accommodation included in the registration fee?
Accommodation is not included. We provide a list of recommended nearby hotels upon registration.
What is the nearest airport?
Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) is served by direct flights from most European cities and many international destinations.
Is the venue accessible by public transport?
Yes. There is a train station at 10m walk distance and bus stops nearby.
From the venue you can get to the airport in around 1h and to the city center in 30m by public transportation.
Registration & Payment
What payment methods are accepted?
Registration is processed via the website, which accepts credit/debit card.
Can I register on the day?
On-the-day registration is not possible.
Can I pay for the meals on the day?
Unfortunately, this is not a possibility given we need to pre-order the meals a few days before the event.
I forgot/did not order meals. What do I do now?
You have some restaurants nearby the venue as well as a supermarket for quick meals.
